Even in colder climates or poor soils, where it may lose some leaves during winter, Green Privet remains a reliable choice for creating dense, long-lasting hedges.
When left untrimmed, it produces white flower heads followed by black berries, though these are rarely seen with regular maintenance. To achieve a tight, smart hedge, it’s best to trim at least three times a year, tapering the hedge slightly so that the top is narrower than the base, ensuring that the foliage remains full from top to bottom.
