A Ligustrum ovalifolium Readybag pallet is 5 metres of our taller mature hedging. Ligustrum ovalifolium is commonly known as green privet or even just Privet. Ligustrum ovalifolium is a hedging is a traditional British Hedge and is the most ubiquitous privet being seen in hedges all over the country and is one of the most commonly grown shrubs. It is also known as the oval leafed Privet. It was introduced from Japan in 1885 and is suitable for growing in a wide range of soil conditions and locations including in shade including under trees and even in areas of tree roots where nothing else will grow. In the colder areas or in poor soils and where it is more exposed to strong winds it can lose some or all of its leaves during the winter months.
A Ligustrum ovalifolium Readybag pallet cna be left untrimmed and if so it will produce a white flower head followed by a black berry but if it is kept trimmed it will be very unusual to see them. With regular trimming at least 3 times per year you will get a very tight and smart hedge. It is best to trim with the top slightly narrower than the base to help keep foliage all the way to the ground.
A pallet of Ligustrum ovalifolium includes fertiliser and irrigation pipe for 5 metres of hedging.
