‘In September 2012, Operation Homefront, a programme being made by North One Television on behalf of Channel 5, took on the onerous task of building a therapeutic garden to be used by military veterans in Preston, Lancashire. What greeted them on the first day was 20 years worth of unkempt growth. Within one week, with the help of local and national businesses, and an army of volunteers, the team of ex service personnel transformed the site into an incredible working garden. Readyhedge took part in this transformation by donating a vast amount of Lonicera nitida to be used as hedging around some of the beds and features within the garden.

Dig In North West, the organisation that will be running the project were overwhelmed by the generosity shown by all involved. Donna Rowe-Green, the founder of Dig In NW said ‘I have been stunned by how much people and businesses have been willing to give to this project. The hedging that Simon at Readyhedge has sent up to us looks fantastic. It has made a real impact upon the design of the beds. See the documentry on Channel 5 in 2013.
